with STEAM Kits
Hillsborough Education Foundation equips elementary school teachers in Hillsborough County with ready-to-use classroom kits, lesson plans, and hands-on STEAM resources to engage students in learning. Understanding that STEAM materials can be costly, we’ve invested in these kits to ensure more teachers have access to tools that foster innovative and engaging learning environments for their students.
How it Works
Elementary school teachers can reserve a Pre-K through 5th grade STEAM kit for a four-week period. Hillsborough Education Foundation offers a catalog of innovative classroom kits that cover concepts such as coding, measurements, physics, mathematics, energy, and more! Each kit is fully equipped with everything teachers need to lead engaging STEAM lessons, including activity cards to assist with planning.
Pickup Hours and Location
Classroom Kits, reserved in advance, are available for pickup and return at Hillsborough Education Foundation (HEF) during the four-week loan period.
Pickup Hours:
Monday–Friday: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Please arrive by 4:45 p.m. to check out or return STEAM Kits. Additional pickup appointments are available during Teaching Tools Resource Center shopping hours.
When picking up your kit, be sure to present your School ID.

Reserve a STEAM Classroom Kit
Teachers are welcome to reserve one of our STEAM Kits every four weeks, based on availability. Follow these simple steps to get started:
Step 1: Reserve a Kit
- Visit our portal to create an account and reserve your kit.
- A lending agreement must be signed before requesting a reservation.
- Reserve Your STEAM Classroom Kit
Step 2: Enjoy the Kit in Your Classroom
- Pick up your kit at HEF and use it in your classroom for the four-week loan period.
- Share your classroom’s experience by emailing photos and stories to HEF, and your class may be featured on our social media. You can also tag us on Facebook, X, Instagram, or LinkedIn to share your success!
Step 3: Return & Reserve Another Kit
- Return the STEAM kit to HEF at the end of the loan period.
- Explore our growing library and reserve a new kit for your next lesson!
