At Hillsborough Education Foundation, volunteers play a vital role in supporting the success of students and teachers throughout Hillsborough County. Their dedication, compassion, and service strengthen our programs and help ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive.
Annie Miller — Sue House Champion for Teaching Tools Volunteer of the Year
As the 2025 Sue House Champion for Teaching Tools Volunteer of the Year, Annie Miller has demonstrated exceptional commitment to HEF’s mission. Contributing nearly 200 hours of service in a single year, Annie has been instrumental in supporting educators through our Teaching Tools Resource Center, ensuring classrooms across the district are equipped with the supplies teachers need to help their students succeed.

“Annie brings joy and dedication to everything she does,” said Natalie Doig, Director of the Teacher Resource Program. “Her commitment to helping teachers thrive directly impacts students across our community and we’re so grateful for her service.”
Bruce Baldwin — Take Stock in Children Mentor of the Year
Bruce Baldwin, our 2025 Take Stock in Children Mentor of the Year, has been a devoted mentor for six years. Through his consistent engagement and encouragement, Bruce has provided valuable guidance to his mentees, helping them build confidence, develop leadership skills, and pursue their academic and career goals.
“Bruce’s belief in his students and his genuine care set him apart,” said Kayla Zambito, Director of Take Stock in Children & Student Services Coordinator. “He embodies what mentoring is all about — inspiring students to reach their full potential.”

The impact of dedicated volunteers like Annie and Bruce extends far beyond their individual contributions. Their service exemplifies the power of community involvement and its lasting effect on education in Hillsborough County.
