CEOs in Schools Celebrates Fifth Year of Success

Celebrating 5 Years of Success

CEOs in Schools, now in its fifth year, is a collaborative initiative spearheaded by Hillsborough Education Foundation, Vistra Communications and Hillsborough County Public Schools. This unique program has successfully brought together more than 150 elementary school principals and Tampa Bay CEOs and executives, creating a bridge between the worlds of education and business.

The impact of CEOs in Schools goes far beyond the boardroom and the classroom. By pairing community leaders with school principals, the program has provided invaluable mentorship, guidance and support to school leaders. These relationships help further principals’ knowledge and positively influence the learning environments for students.

Business leaders benefit as well by gaining valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges facing principals, teachers and students on a daily basis. By experiencing the school environment firsthand, these CEOs develop a deeper understanding of the educational landscape, allowing them to identify opportunities to make a difference for students, teachers and schools.

“It was clear to me that Principal Sanchez and her team have maximized the resources available for Title I schools to support student success! The English Language Learning Center, dual language classrooms, technology, music education, STEM maker space and literacy resources were so impressive — as was their beautiful library! They made me an advocate for the dual language immersion program,” said Girl Scouts of West Central Florida CEO Mary Pat King of her partnership with Crestwood Elementary Principal Diane Sanchez.

As we celebrate the achievements of CEOs in Schools, we look forward to watching these relationships grow into year-round partnerships.

The success of CEOs in Schools reaffirms the importance of community engagement in education. It highlights the positive outcomes that can be achieved when businesses and schools work hand in hand, pooling their resources, expertise and enthusiasm.

We are inspired by the potential of these collaborations to drive positive change, empower educators and create a brighter, more promising future for the next generation.Missed the in-school volunteer day? There are still ways to get connected with a school!
