Many assignments, assessments, research projects, and other classroom activities now require internet access. When students are left without the right tools, fully participating in their lessons becomes challenging, putting student success in Hillsborough County at risk.
As classrooms now rely on digital resources, virtual communication has become a large part of education as well. If students are unable to receive messages from their teachers or communicate effectively, it creates a gap that is likely to cause confusion and frustration, ultimately disrupting their motivation, confidence, and overall ability to learn.

How Tech Connect Helps Students Succeed
To help close the digital divide, Hillsborough Education Foundation created Tech Connect. This initiative provides students and families with a computer to keep, one year of Wi-Fi access, digital skills coaching, and ongoing support.
For many families, when finances are tight, internet service is often one of the first expenses to be cut. Tech Connect helps remove this barrier by making sure students can stay connected and keep up with their schoolwork.
With the right tools and support, students are able to stay engaged, communicate with their teachers, and succeed in the classroom.
