As the new school year begins, the Hillsborough Education Foundation is dedicated to ensuring it’s one that counts. Without proper support, guidance, and resources, students may lack the necessary tools they need for achieving student success in Hillsborough County. Even something as small as a pencil and a sheet of paper can be the first step toward opening a world of opportunities for the next generation.
By working together, we can make sure every student, teacher, and school in Hillsborough County has the resources they need to help our youth reach their full potential. We invite you to be part of this mission at EmpowerED, our annual luncheon that brings the community together to create lasting change.
What is our Annual EmpowerED Luncheon?
EmpowerED is a unique opportunity to connect with business leaders, community partners, and education advocates while exploring the challenges in public education and how we can team up to support student success in Hillsborough County. It’s also a time to shine a light on the impact of Tampa education grants and other resources that give students the tools they need to thrive, as well as celebrate this year’s theme, Pencils to Possibilities.

Pencils to Possibilities: What it Actually Means
This year’s theme, Pencils to Possibilities, celebrates how even the smallest resources, like a sharpened pencil, can open the door to limitless opportunities. By coming together as a community, we can ensure every student has what they need to achieve their goals.
Money raised from this year’s event will support initiatives that provide essential tools and opportunities for both students and teachers. These include programs funded through Tampa education grants, which will continue to provide support long after the event.
