From Local Impact to National Recognition: Hillsborough Education Foundation’s Teaching Tools Resource Center Takes Center Stage

Hillsborough Education Foundation recently had the exciting opportunity to have our Teaching Tools Resource Center featured on Good Morning America! The story discussed the common need for teachers to supply their own classroom tools out-of-pocket and looked at how people and organizations across the country are working to lessen the financial strain.

The feature came at the perfect time as this year marked a significant milestone for us – the Teaching Tools Resource Center opened its doors to all Hillsborough County Public Schools teachers! This invaluable resource provides teachers with essential supplies, teaching materials and more to transform their classrooms. By offering free access to supplies, we aim to alleviate the financial burden on educators, allowing them to focus on what truly matters: nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning.

Since opening for the 2023-24 school year, our Teaching Tools Resource Center has already made a profound impact on local educators. 2,196 teachers have visited the center since July, with each shopping trip saving an average of $450, allowing educators to redirect their budgets toward other crucial educational needs and initiatives.

This achievement reflects our ongoing dedication to promoting equal educational opportunities for all students. By providing teachers with the resources they need, we empower them to create engaging and dynamic learning environments and ensure students have the tools necessary to thrive academically and beyond.
