Hillsborough Education Foundation is thrilled to share the incredible success of this year’s Supply Drive Season so far. Thanks to the unwavering support of our community, we’ve achieved remarkable milestones that have a profound impact on students and educators throughout Hillsborough County. With more than 180 local businesses and organizations rallying behind us, Supply Drive Season has been nothing short of extraordinary.
One of the standout moments this year was the Tampa Bay School Supply Drive, which saw multiple school buses packed full with supplies for students on both sides of the Bay. This monumental effort was made possible by drives hosted at Target and Staples, in collaboration with 10 Tampa Bay, and at Tropicana Field, hosted by the Tampa Bay Rays. These events brought our community together in a powerful display of generosity and solidarity.
The collected supplies play a vital role in stocking our Teaching Tools Resource Center. Starting this year, our center opened its doors to all full-time Hillsborough County Public Schools teachers. At the TTRC, they can shop for free supplies and resources, helping to alleviate the financial burden many teachers face when stocking their classrooms.
Since July, we have already:
- Served 1,315 teachers, including 135 new educators,
- Moved $691,243.11 worth of products through teacher shops and our Take Stock in Children student shopping day.
