District Asks Education Commissioner for Changes to Help Fill Vacancies

The critical national teacher shortage is impacting Hillsborough County Public Schools. The district had to deploy 290 certified district staff members to the classroom to temporarily fill the void at the start of the school year. In the letter below, Superintendent Addison Davis is asking the Florida Commissioner of Education to make policy changes to help fill vacancies and ensure students benefit by having the best teacher in front of them.
