‘Tis the season for appreciating Hillsborough County teachers!
Though Hillsborough Education Foundation is committed to equipping teachers with adequate resources and support to help ensure they are effective in the classroom year-round, there’s no time like the holidays to show extra appreciation for their hard work and dedication.
Recently, the Hillsborough Education Foundation team surprised teachers and staff at Oak Park Elementary School with appreciation gifts, which included insulated cooler bags, planners, pencils and coupons to local restaurants.
With the second quarter coming to a close, and the holiday break on the horizon, Hillsborough County Public Schools teachers are working tirelessly to prepare students for success in the next half of the academic year—and Hillsborough Education Foundation wanted to recognize them for their outstanding efforts.
Carlene Williams, a second-grade teacher at Oak Park Elementary, was thrilled to receive the token of appreciation from the Foundation and grateful for the thought behind the gift. Williams noted that she was a previous recipient of a classroom grant from Hillsborough Education Foundation, and the organization’s ongoing support has been incredible.
“Thanks to Hillsborough Education Foundation,” Williams said. “They continue to support us in many ways, and we just love getting the surprises – keeping us uplifted – it just means the world.”

Oak Park Elementary School Principal Ryan Moody also expressed gratitude to the Hillsborough Education Foundation for surprising his teaching staff and added that his teachers, and many others across the county, truly deserve the recognition.
“My teachers go above and beyond, as I know they do at other campuses, and it’s just nice for them to feel appreciated sometimes,” Moody said. “I know they do it because they love the students, but everyone likes a little token of appreciation.”
