Students’ award-winning works to be featured from the 2021 Hillsborough County Region Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

(March 25, 2021) Tampa, FL – Hillsborough Education Foundation and Hillsborough County Public Schools are proud to host the 2021 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards presented by Suncoast Credit Union. This year’s ceremony, honoring students as regional and national award winners, will be held virtually and available for viewing beginning on March 4, 2021 at 7 p.m. at EducationFoundation.com/ScholasticArtandWritingAwards.com.

Prior to the release of the recorded virtual ceremony, members of the media are invited to join us for an in-person VIP Viewing to see students’ winning submissions from the 2021 Hillsborough County Region Scholastic Art & Writing Awards—before the exhibition opens to the public.

The exhibition, featuring art and writing pieces by local middle and high school students, will be open to the public as well as to media, March 5th-March 13th on the University of Tampa campus.

This year, there were more than 1,500 student submissions and the regional judges had the tough task of narrowing them down to 247 art awards and 96 writing awards.

The works from Hillsborough County’s 82 Gold Key winners will be submitted to the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers in New York City. Students will have the opportunity to compete at the national level and be recognized in a virtual ceremony on June 9, 2021.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, established in 1923, is the longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in the United States and is the largest source of scholarships for young artists and writers.
